AUSTIN OBIOMA NWULU is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with extensive experience in the mental health care field, assessing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with various forms of mental health and/or substance use difficulties. AUSTIN's formal mental health care training spans two continents: Africa and North America.
His training in the mental health domain started with his post-basic psychiatric Registered Nurse degree in 1993 at the School of Psychiatric Nursing, Ministry of Health in Aba, Nigeria. in the United States, he furthered his training with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Grand Canyon University, and later a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His professional studies were done concurrently while working full-time as a psychiatric nurse.
AUSTIN greatly enjoys delivering psychiatric care to individuals of all ages, socioeconomic, and/or sociocultural backgrounds. He is comfortable caring for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He is a strong believer and advocate of the collaborative care and treatment model, which incorporates the patient's decisions, choices, and preferences in the development and planning of the treatment protocol.
